Biography of IMRAN KHAN Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

Imran Khan was recent Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan in 1952 and received his early education at Aitchison College and the Royal Grammar School Worcester in the UK. He then went on to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Keble College, Oxford.



After completing his education, Khan returned to Pakistan and began playing cricket for the national team. He played for over two decades and was captain of the team that won the 1992 Cricket World Cup. After retiring from cricket, Khan became involved in philanthropy and politics. He founded the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore, which provides free cancer treatment to poor patients, and the Namal College in Mianwali, which offers higher education opportunities to students from underprivileged backgrounds.

In 1996, Khan founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party and has been its chairman since then. He ran for office several times, but it was not until the 2018 general election that he was able to secure a victory and become Prime Minister of Pakistan. Since taking office, he has focused on improving the country’s economy and tackling corruption.
